Tyson Fury has promised to abandon caution and “blast out” Anthony Joshua when the long-awaited heavyweight showdown finally takes place in Cardiff on December 11.
Fury and Joshua came face-to-face for the first time at their London press conference on Wednesday, with the former world champions trading verbal blows before eventually sharing a calm face-off.
The fight will take place at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
No 1 in the sport
Fury was particularly keen to dismiss Joshua and Eddie Hearn’s previous references to being the “landlord” and “rent man”, insisting he remains the biggest name in the contest.
“When I look behind me, I only see one don and that’s Fury vs AJ,” Fury said.
“Now you’ve come to get the rent and I ain’t f**cking paying because I’m No 1.”
Fury also accused Joshua and his team of attempting to avoid the fight during negotiations before claiming he had finally “checkmated” his rival.
The 38-year-old then promised an aggressive approach when the two finally meet.

Early fight blitz
“I’m going to come out and I’m going to blast him out there,” Fury said.
“It will be a Gunfight at the O.K. Corral and the best man is going to win, because I’m not going to run away and I’m not going to box. I’m going to throw down!
“From what I’m seeing, I’m going to catch him and – when I do – it’s going to be curtains.”
Despite the heated exchanges, Fury also acknowledged Joshua’s achievements, describing him as a two-time heavyweight world champion, Olympic gold medallist and a major figure in British boxing.
Never too late
Fury rejected suggestions that their fight had arrived too late in their careers, pointing to the decade-long wait for the bout.
“Is it f*ck too late,” he said. “It’s the icing on the cake of two great careers, to throw down in front of 80,000 people and may the best man win.
“Let’s go out f****** swinging.”
The pair will meet in Cardiff on December 11 after years of failed negotiations and speculation.
