The men’s quarter-final matches
Rafael Jodar vs Alexander Zverev
Jakub Menšík vs Joao Fonseca
Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Flavio Cobolli
Matteo Berrettini vs Matteo Arnaldi
Here is how the quarter-finals concluded at Roland Garros:
Rafael Jodar vs Alexander Zverev
The first quarter-final match of the tournament concluded with three consecutive sets to Zverev.
Jodar seemed comfortable during the first set, as he managed to bring the first game into a tiebreak, which was won by Zverev with seven points against three after an impressive comeback, being under four break points.
After the first set, Zverev showed his tennis quality by dominating the second and third sets, winning 107 points and 19 games in total.
“I want to keep going and win the matches ahead of me – that is my goal and my aim,” Zverev said in the post-match interview.
Jakub Menšík vs Joao Fonseca
Menšík conquered the semi-finals by winning three sets in a row against Fonseca, who had an incredible tournament after defeating Novak Djokovic and Casper Ruud.
Menšík won the first set after a serve break at 3-2, which gave the Czech control of the first game.
Menšík dominated the second set after leading three sets over the Brazilian, who gave away the set thanks to a double-fault error in the serve.
The two players fought well in the last set, as the Czech won the match by a tiebreak, concluding seven points to three.
“The last game and the tie-break were one of my best performances so far,” Menšík said courtside.

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Flavio Cobolli
The gladiator Cobolli doesn’t give up easily against the Canadian Auger-Aliassime, winning three sets in a row after losing the first one.
The match started under windy, rainy conditions, which caused problems for Cobolli, who didn’t feel very comfortable on the court, so Auger-Aliassime took advantage of it.
During the second set, the roof closed, and that’s when Cobolli started to feel more comfortable, both of them giving an incredible match to the audience.
Cobolli managed to come back in the second and third sets after being down three break points in both games, never giving up when it mattered.
The gladiator Cobolli won the last game on his serving turn, making it difficult for the Canadian to come back for one last match-deciding set.
It will be Cobolli’s first major semi-final in his career.
“I think we played two different matches today. The first set was incredibly windy and tough to play.
“I said to myself to fight as I felt this would be the chance of my life, and I have to give everything in my matches, and today I did it,” Cobolli said courtside.
Matteo Berrettini vs Matteo Arnaldi
An unfortunate end of the tournament for Matteo Berrettini, who had to retire on the second set due to an injury that he couldn’t handle.
The first set concluded in favour of Arnaldi, after which Berretini retired in the middle of the second set.
Arnaldi, following Berrettini’s retirement, will be taking part in his first major semi-final after having an incredible tournament.
