CM Punk and Jey Uso are set to battle over the vacant World Heavyweight Championship in “Saturday Night’s Main Event” on November 1.

The match comes as Seth Rollins was stripped of the title in the recent episode of “Raw” due to an injury, as he was also viciously attacked by the group he formed.

Punk was initially poised to fight Rollins at the event after beating Uso and LA Knight in a “Triple Threat match” last week.

But since the injury was announced, “Raw” General Manager Adam Pearce set up a “Battle Royal” to determine Punk’s opponent.

Uso won the match, which also featured Knight, AJ Styles, and Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio, among others.

Rollins kicked out

In last week’s episode of “Raw”, Rollins, who was fresh off a win in a champion vs champion match against Cody Rhodes, boasted that his success was solely because of himself, brushing off his teammates in “The Vision”, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

“At this moment, there is no one on my level… I haven’t needed anyone to get my success,” Rollins claimed as the raucous crowd shouted “bullsh*t”.

“Roman Reigns needed ‘The Shield’, Roman Reigns needed ‘The Bloodline’, Cody Rhodes needed me to help him beat Roman Reigns.”

“I’ve never needed anybody, I don’t need Bronson Reed, I don’t need Bron Breakker, I don’t need Paul Heyman.”

Rollins’ statement irked his allies as at the end of the night, “The Architect” was assaulted by Breakker and Reed.

“The Vision” attacked Punk after he won the contendership for the belt.

However, Breakker furiously gave a “Spear” to an unsuspecting Rollins, followed by a “Tsunami” by the 157-kilogramme Reed.

The show ended with Breakker lifting the World Heavyweight Championship, as the group kicked out the man who united them.

Pearce announces injury

In the latest episode of “Raw”, Pearce confronted the villainous team, who was still in possession of the championship belt.

“Because of what you two did Seth Rollins is at home just having had major surgery, because of what you two did Seth Rollins is on the shelf for quite a while.”

“Which means, because of what you two did, I’m out here with the unfortunate responsibility to announce to the world that as of right now, because of you two, I hereby strip Seth Rollins of the World Heavyweight Championship,” Pearce stated.

He then wiped the smirk off Breakker, who was holding Rollins’ belt on his shoulders, announcing the aforementioned “Battle Royal”.

The group was forced to hand over the championship after a tense exchange between Pearce and Breakker.

Later in the night, Uso then won the chance to reclaim the heavyweight belt after eliminating his brother Jimmy, Knight and Mysterio in quick succession.

The episode ended with Punk and Uso facing off in the ring, as they are set to lock horns in November.
