Oliver Glasner has been installed as the overwhelming favourite to become Manchester United manager for the first game of the 2026/27 season.
Bookmakers SkyBet have priced the Crystal Palace boss at 6/5 following confirmation that he will leave Selhurst Park at the end of the campaign.
The Austrian coach announced on Friday that he has opted against renewing his contract in South London, bringing an end to a successful two-year spell with the Eagles.
Glasner, 51, has been widely credited with transforming Palace’s fortunes and made history last season by guiding the club to their first major trophy, edging Manchester City 1-0 in the 2025 FA Cup final.
His impending availability has intensified speculation around the managerial vacancy at Old Trafford.
Manchester United recently dismissed Portuguese tactician Ruben Amorim and placed Michael Carrick in caretaker charge until the end of the season.
Carrick in the running
Ex Middlesbrough manager Carrick is rated a 4/1 chance to be given the United reins on a permanent basis for next season, with former England boss Gareth Southgate a 6/1 shot.
Despite the growing links with United, Glasner insisted his focus remains firmly on finishing strongly with Palace and potentially adding further silverware.
“I haven’t spoken to any other club,” he said. “I told the players that and promised them today I will give my best to give the best season in Crystal Palace history.

Eyes on more silverware
“We are now four points better off than we were at this stage of the season, and we will do everything to bring another trophy back to Selhurst Park. We had the Conference League draw today.
“We will play Zrinjski Mostar from Bosnia in the play-off draw and I had a look at the draw tree – it’ll be quite interesting who we could play in our section.
“I will do everything to help bring a trophy back to Selhurst Park.”
While Glasner continues to play down talk of his next destination, bookmakers have reacted swiftly, with Manchester United now viewed as the most likely next step in his managerial career.
Palace, meanwhile, will start preparing for life without the Austrian next season, and Roberto Martinez (5/1) leads the list of contenders to manage the Eagles after Glasner departs.
