Arthur Fery continued his remarkable Wimbledon campaign by defeating Flavio Cobolli in straight sets on Wednesday to reach the first Grand Slam semi-final of his career.
The British wildcard produced another composed display on Centre Court, feeding off the home support to overcome the Italian and book a last-four meeting with French Open champion Alexander Zverev.
Fery looked confident throughout the contest, having already beaten Cobolli earlier in the season, and never allowed the occasion to overwhelm him as he closed out another impressive victory.

A noteworthy achievement for Fery
Reflecting on his achievement, Fery admitted the experience continues to exceed his expectations.
“It seems to get better and better every match,” Fery told Sky Sports.
“I can’t believe it. It’s incredible playing on Centre Court for my second time, second win.”
The 24-year-old also revealed that his previous victory over Cobolli in Australia had given him belief that another win was possible.
“I played Flavio earlier this year and beat him in Australia so I knew I could do it. It gave me a boost of confidence,” he added.
Fery acknowledged the emotions of reaching the final four had been unlike anything he had previously experienced.
“That last game I felt emotions that I haven’t felt before in my life. It’s unbelievable.”
Huge Zverev challenge
His reward is a semi-final against French Open champion Alexander Zverev, representing the biggest match of his career to date.
Despite the magnitude of the occasion, Fery remains focused on continuing his impressive run.
“I’ve never been in this position before. I’ve been doing a great job over the past 10 days, so I’ll see where that takes me,” Fery concluded.
