Round two of the 2026 Six Nations is shaping up to be far less predictable than the opening weekend.

After a series of one-sided results in round one, attention now turns to whether the tournament will settle into a familiar pattern, or deliver early surprises, according to the bookmakers.

Ireland to beat Italy at 1/25 (Sky Bet)

Despite Ireland’s heavy loss to the French in round one, they are still big favourites to push past the Italians at home.

The Italians’ hard-fought victory against a lacklustre Scotland last weekend, and the injuries to the Irish squad, are not enough to place them any higher in the bookies’ favour.

With a record best of only two wins, Italy is statistically the worst team in Six Nations history.

In 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, Italy lost all of their Six Nations games, encapsulating a 36-match losing streak.

Their odds are 10/1 to win.

England to beat Scotland at 1/3 (Sky Bet)

England’s seven-try battering of the Welsh in round one puts them firmly in contention of beating the Scottish, even though they are playing away from home.

Scotland’s odds aren’t helped by their dismal 18-15 loss to the Italians in Rome last weekend.

Although, last year was England’s first Calcutta Cup win over Scotland in five years.

However, the Scots don’t look the part to correct that, their current form substantiates this.

Their odds to beat England are 11/4

France to beat Wales at 1/200 (Sky Bet)

Wales’ dismal 48-7 loss to England last weekend puts them at miracle odds to beat the French this week.

It’s not just Wales’ poor form, but France’s unyielding one that puts them as favourites by a landslide, as they took a commanding win over Ireland in round one.

Last year, Wales were not only shut out by the French in a 43-0 loss, but they didn’t win a single game in the championship either.

Wales’ odds to beat France are at 28/1.
