The battle for the top four in the Premier League is intensifying as Manchester City look to keep the pressure on Arsenal at the top of the table.

Elsewhere, West Ham host Liverpool and Nottingham Forest travel to Brighton in a relegation battle that looks set to go down to the wire.

Here, Sport Just Sport writer Alex Rhodes takes a look at the televised games in Matchweek 28, providing some predictions and suggested bets.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Aston Villa – Friday 8:00pm

Despite a 0.7% chance of winning the league, January signing Tammy Abraham is optimistic of Aston Villa’s chances, recently saying, “who knows what could happen…we have to keep pushing.”

Villa have won three of their last four fixtures against Wolves and are looking to complete the league double over them for the first time since the 2003/04 season.

Rob Edwards’ side have failed to score in 15 games this season and are winless in 17 matches against teams in the top half of the table, highlighting their struggles against stronger opposition.

Wolves will be looking to claim their second win of the season after a narrow defeat to Crystal Palace last time out.

Prediction: Aston Villa to win and score over 2.5 goals

Bournemouth vs Sunderland – Saturday 12:30pm

Sunderland were touted to challenge for European places after a strong start to the season, but recent form has seen them drop outside the top half of the table.

Three defeats in a row for the Black Cats will give a resurgent Bournemouth side confidence as they remain unbeaten since their 3-2 defeat against Arsenal on January 3.

Despite winning the reverse fixture 3-2 in November, Régis Le Bris’ side arrives at the Vitality as the underdogs, having conceded three goals in their last three away fixtures.

Prediction: Bournemouth to win and keep a clean sheet

Leeds United vs Manchester City – Saturday 5:30pm

In recent weeks, Leeds have taken points from both Aston Villa and Chelsea and haven’t lost since their 4-0 defeat to Arsenal on January 31.

Free-kick hero against Villa, Anton Stach, believes they are now a “whole team on the pitch…[we] have a good quality,” reflecting their improved form.

For Man City, a win would move them within two points of league leaders Arsenal, and they will be travelling to Elland Road full of belief.

Pep Guardiola’s side haven’t lost to the Yorkshire team since April 2021, though a 91st-minute goal from Phil Foden earlier this season secured a narrow 3-2 win at the Etihad for Man City.

Prediction: Game to end in a draw

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Nottingham Forest – Sunday 2:00pm

Brighton ended their winless run against European hopefuls Brentford last week as James Milner broke the league record for appearances.

Fabian Hürzeler’s side have scored just three in their last five games and will rely on top scorer Danny Welbeck to provide the difference.

Forest have enjoyed a fruitful European campaign, reaching the Europa League last 16, beating Turkish side Fenerbahçe 4-2 on aggregate on Thursday night.

The Seagulls won the reverse fixture 2-0 in November but haven’t defeated Vitor Pereira’s side at home since March 2024.

Prediction: Game to have fewer than 2.5 goals

Fulham vs Tottenham Hotspur – Sunday 2:00pm

New Tottenham manager Igor Tudor has urged his side to have “the mentality of a small team” as they remain winless in 2026.

Spurs are aiming to avoid 10 league games in a row without a win for the first time since 1994, underlining the poor recent form of the club.

Fulham, meanwhile, could complete the league double over Tottenham, a feat they haven’t achieved since 2004.

They will be confident after ending their losing streak with a comfortable 3-1 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

The Cottagers have won three of the last four meetings between the sides, with their last defeat a 2-0 loss in October 2023.

Prediction: Fulham to win by over 1.5 goals

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace – Sunday 2:00pm

Crystal Palace have lost six of their last eight fixtures following midweek European football, despite progressing in the European Conference League.

In contrast, Manchester United are on the verge of achieving 10 consecutive unbeaten league games in a row for the first time since 2021, as manager Michael Carrick maintains his strong start.

In-form striker Benjamin Šeško has scored six goals in his last seven appearances for the Red Devils, who are looking to close the gap on Aston Villa in third.

The Eagles won 2-0 on their last visit to Old Trafford, but three wins in their last 10 league games leave United as firm favourites.

Prediction: United to win by over 3.5 goals

Arsenal vs Chelsea – Sunday 4:30pm

Chelsea have played nine away fixtures against Arsenal when the Gunners are top of the league, winning just once in March 1948.

Arsenal have not conceded a goal from inside the box without an individual error since December 30, a run that has now stretched to nine games.

Mike Arteta’s side are unbeaten in their last 11 meetings with Chelsea, winning eight, including a 4-2 aggregate victory in the recent EFL Cup semi-finals.

The Blues have dropped 19 points from winning positions this season and remain 16 points behind Arsenal, highlighting their defensive fragility.

Prediction: Arsenal to win and score over 2.5 goals
