Bryson DeChambeau is excited to get going at the 2026 Masters at Augusta, where he is relishing the chance to lock horns with 2025 champion Rory McIlroy once again.

The combative American played alongside Northern Ireland star McIlroy in the final round last year – but after leading the tournament at one stage, he finished tied fifth after shooting a 75.

DeChambeau is in fine form heading into the much-anticipated major at Augusta National and is rated as a 12/1 shot with bookmakers SkyBet to don the famous green jacket on Sunday.

Back-to-back wins

The two-time US Open champion arrives at The Masters having won successive LIV Golf League tournaments.

And he feels he has learnt from the pain of last year’s final-round tussle with McIlroy, who is available at 14/1 with most bookmakers to defend his crown.

The action tees off on Thursday, April 9 and concludes on the evening of Sunday, April 11.

USA Ryder Cup star DeChambeau told a press conference ahead of The Masters: “It [losing] was a great learning lesson.

“Leading or being tied for the lead and having the lead, that last group final round, gave me a lot of perspective on it.

“Then losing it and having things not go my way as they finished out and Rory completed the grand slam.

“Last year he earned it, right? It was really cool to see in person.”

Learning process

DeChambeau continued: “As I reflect back on it, the one thing I can take from it is that I can put myself in those positions.

“The more I put myself in those positions, the better opportunities I’m going to have to win.

“It’s just been a gradual learning process.

“You never know what this week may bring, but I certainly hope to give it my all and put myself back in that position because I want to feel it again.”

Regarding his form, he added on Sky Sports: “Obviously, I’m playing well and I feel like my game’s in the best place of its career.

“Outside of that, I’m excited to get the week going and see where I can put myself.”
