A William Hill punter celebrated a major win after landing an each-way treble on Saturday’s racing, securing a return of £11,792.44 from a stake of £30.
The treble kicked off at 1:10pm in the opening contest at Kelso with Doyen Du Bar, who ended up a wide-margin winner for the Danny McMenamin and Nicky Richards partnership, returning at 3/1.
Park Princess was their next selection at 9/1 and readily obliged in the 1:25pm at Doncaster.
The final leg of the bet, Padraig Dawn, was hammered in the betting into 11/5 from 18/1 for Southwell’s 5:30pm and duly obliged to see the treble land.
A superb return
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “An astute William Hill customer enjoyed a standout Saturday on the turf after striking gold with a £15 each-way treble, collecting £11,792.44 in the process.
“The afternoon began in ideal fashion at Kelso, where Doyen Du Bar set the tone with a decisive victory at 3/1 for the Danny McMenamin and Nicky Richards partnership.
“Momentum quickly gathered at Doncaster as Park Princess, sent off at 9/1, produced a dominant display to score by a wide margin and land the second leg of the treble.
“All eyes then turned to Southwell for the 5:30pm, with Padraig Dawn tasked with completing the hat-trick at 18/1.
“The punter clearly knew more than us with the debutant well backed throughout the day, shortening dramatically in the market to a starting price of 11/5.
“The three-year-old had to dig deep in the closing stages but found plenty when it mattered most to secure the win and wrap up a superb five-figure return.
“The foresight to combine three winners from a competitive Saturday of racing at these prices is impressive and we can only congratulate them on an outstanding winning bet.”
