Chelsea defeated Leeds United 1-0 at Wembley on Sunday, April 26 to book an FA Cup final showdown with Manchester City, who defeated Southampton in their semi-final.
The Blues’ performance was a patchy yet assured one, putting them back in the winning column, snuffing out a run comprising seven losses out of eight.
Enzo Fernandez’s 23rd-minute header was enough to sink the Whites, who had chances offensively but struggled to be clinical when the moments arose.

A potential high to end the season
With silverware in sight, Chelsea have an opportunity to end the season with some success, despite an erratic season.
Interim head coach Calum McFarlane was able to get his team up for the semi-final, in the wake of former boss Liam Rosenior’s sacking just four days prior.
His side produced a more confident performance – but a lot more will be required to overcome Pep Guardiola’s Man City troops.
“It was important to get the win,” McFarlane told Sky Sports. “It was important to break the momentum and the form we were in.
“We were confident that we would do that, and I think that completely changes the feel within the group.
“I think that was probably more important and gives us confidence going into the next five games.”
Final pending
“You don’t even have time to focus on it,” McFarlane continued, referring to the FA Cup final.
“You don’t take in the fact that you’re playing at Wembley, you’re just solely focused on making sure the team’s performance is at the highest level so you don’t have time to take that all in.
“Maybe [it will] at the end of the season. It’s an unbelievable experience for me, but there’s so much that’s coming thick and fast that you don’t even have time to take it all in, in honesty.”
The FA Cup final clash between Chelsea and Man City is all set for May 16.
