Manchester City’s title challenge ended on Tuesday after a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth confirmed Arsenal as Premier League champions.
Eli Junior Kroupi gave Bournemouth the lead in the first half before Erling Haaland rescued a late point for Man City, but it was not enough to stop Arsenal ending a 22-year wait for the title.
And despite the travelling supporters calling on him to stay, Man City boss Pep Guardiola is still expected to depart the club at the end of the season.
The result also sealed European qualification for Bournemouth in Andoni Iraola’s final home match before his own exit.
Guardiola lauds ‘extraordinary’ club
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Guardiola remained vague about his future with Man City.
“I can say I have one more year of contract and we had many years of winning,” he said.
“The first person who has to talk is the chairman [Khaldoon Al Mubarak]. When we finish the season, we will talk and take a decision.
“I’m the happiest man on the planet to be at this club. It is extraordinary.”
Talks with the chairman
In his post-match press conference, the Spaniard added: “Listen, with the club, always I talk, but not now.
“The first thing you have to understand is you should talk with my chairman first, right? And after that, when I talk with my chairman, we’ll decide.
“We’ll talk the next few days.
“Always we talk with my chairman – what are we going to do, what are we not going to do. But I think he deserves [to be the first one spoken to], right?”

Villa the final curtain?
Asked if Sunday’s match-up with Aston Villa will be his last in Manchester, Guardiola stated: “Let me talk about my chairman!
“I know they [the fans] love me so much. I love them more. I know that it’s the best place to be. I love that place [the Etihad]. I adore it.
“Let me talk about my club. Even though people say I talk to a thousand million people in person, I was incredibly, incredibly focused on my job.
“When we are in the competitions, I’m there. I was there. This is what I have to do.”
Arsenal secure ‘deserved’ title
Guardiola also took the opportunity to praise Arsenal’s historic title win under Mikel Arteta.
“[I must] congratulate Arsenal, Mikel and the backroom staff, the fans for the Premier League which they deserved,” he admitted.
“I would love to have arrived in the last moment.
“The fatigue was there. Bournemouth had 12 days to prepare. The impact from the fresh players was not good enough.
“We fought a lot and we prepare next season.”
