Glorious Goodwood 2026: Every race ITV will show during the festival

Glorious Goodwood returns this week as one of the biggest highlights of the British Flat racing season, with five days of top-class action from the stunning Sussex Downs.

The festival attracts many of the world’s leading horses, jockeys and trainers, with elite Group races, competitive handicaps and some of the sport’s most prestigious prizes all featuring across the week.

The 2026 meeting runs from Tuesday, July 28 to Saturday, August 1, with racing beginning at 1.50pm (UK time) each day. 

Feature contests

Depending on the programme, there are between seven and nine races on the card.

Each afternoon is headlined by a feature contest. 

The festival’s three Group 1 races are the Goodwood Cup on Tuesday, the Sussex Stakes on Wednesday and the Nassau Stakes on Thursday. 

The Sussex Stakes is staged at 4.10pm BST, while the other two Group 1 races are both scheduled for 3.35pm BST.

ITV Racing live coverage

Every day also has its own theme, with Goodwood Cup Day (Tuesday), Sussex Stakes Day (Wednesday), Ladies’ Day (Thursday), King George Day (Friday) and Stewards’ Cup Day (Saturday).

ITV Racing will provide live coverage from Goodwood throughout the festival between 1.30pm and 4.30pm (UK time). 

As part of its afternoon broadcast, ITV will televise five races each day rather than the full racecard.
