Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara had said he cannot see Pep Guardiola leaving Manchester City at the end of the season.
In an exclusive interview with 10bet, the popular talkSPORT pundit was adamant that the Spaniard will remain Man City boss ahead of next season.
Rumours are circulating that this could be Guardiola’s final campaign at the Etihad.
His managerial contract is set to expire at the end of next season.
Here, Sport Just Sport writer Emily Clogg discusses the quotes from O’Hara and what a future with or without Guardiola could look like for Man City.
Could Guardiola be on his way out?
It has been almost 10 years since Guardiola first took charge at Man City.
He joined the club with the reputation of being one of the very best managers in world football.
It’s safe to say that this legacy has only gotten stronger and stronger during his time at the Etihad.
After six league titles, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups, and a Champions League trophy, could it be time to move on to a new adventure?
Guardiola has hinted that he may need a break from the stresses of being a football manager, and O’Hara sympathises with the strain.
He said: “It’s one of the hardest jobs in the world. Constant press conferences, constant pressure. Pressure ages you. Trust me.
“When you’re dealing with scrutiny and results – it’s a results-based business – every week you have to win, every week you have to perform, otherwise it’s all on you.
“It is tough being a manager. So tough.”
For O’Hara, though, Guardiola should keep on writing history at Man City.
“I don’t know why everyone keeps going on like Pep’s going to leave. He might win three trophies this season,” he said.
“I know he’s been there a while, and maybe he wants a break at some point, but I don’t see Pep leaving.
“He’s just built a new team, and this team looks pretty decent… I think Pep is in this for the long haul.”

The impossible task of replacing Guardiola
If Guardiola were to leave Man City at the end of the season, replacing him would feel like an impossible task.
He is one of the most successful managers the game has ever seen, and it would be a daunting challenge for whoever was brave enough.
There are a number of top-quality managers currently on the market, though.
One of whom is Roberto De Zerbi, who has recently left his job in the dugout at Marseille.
“Maybe in the future, De Zerbi might be someone they look at, I think he’s a good manager,” O’Hara said.
“No one’s going to be Pep unless you’re going to get Ancelotti or someone like that, but De Zerbi would be a decent fit for any team.
“Didn’t go well at Marseille, but I think he’s a good manager.”
