Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has insisted he retains the full backing of the club’s owners, despite a poor run of results, but admitted that performances must improve quickly.
The 41-year-old is under growing pressure after a string of defeats has dented Chelsea’s hopes of securing Champions League qualification this season.
The team have struggled for form and goals in recent weeks, leaving them in a vulnerable position in the table.
Owners “magnificent” in support
Speaking ahead of their fixture against Burnley, Rosenior made it clear that he still has the support of those above him.
“100%,” he said. “They have been supportive of me in our daily conversations, the sporting directors involved – they’ve been magnificent in their support of me and the team.
“We’re relying on them,” he added.
Despite that backing, the Chelsea boss acknowledged that results must improve if the club are to meet expectations.
“We know we need to win games of football in the now,” he continued.
“That is what this club demands, and rightfully so, and that is what the fans expect. It is about winning football – that is what football is about.”

Rosenior accepts responsibility as pressure builds
Rosenior admitted responsibility for the team’s recent struggles, stressing that long-term plans cannot come at the expense of immediate results.
“You can’t speak about the long term if you aren’t doing the job in the short term,” he said.
“Being really respectfully honest, we haven’t done well in recent games, and that is on my shoulders as the head coach of the team.”
The former defender, who took charge in January following the departure of Enzo Maresca, is the latest manager tasked with leading Chelsea’s long-term project under the current ownership.
However, with the season entering its final stages and Chelsea struggling to finish in the top five, attention is firmly on short-term improvement.
A continued lack of goals has been a major concern, with Chelsea enduring a run without scoring that has only increased the pressure on both players and staff.
Rosenior now faces a crucial period, with upcoming matches likely to define whether Chelsea can still salvage their campaign.
