Nottingham Forest have announced Vitor Pereira as their new manager following the dismissal of Sean Dyche.
The former Wolves boss joins the club in an attempt to keep Forest’s Premier League status intact.
Forest are currently 17th in the table, just three points clear of West Ham United in the drop zone.

Pereira’s track record
When most Premier League fans hear the name Vitor Pereira, they will instantly think of his time as Wolves boss.
Pereira took charge of the Molineux dugout at the end of 2024 and had a fairly successful first season at the club.
He joined Wolves at a time of trouble, with former manager Gary O’Neill having left then 19th in the table on a mediocre nine points from 16 matches.
When Pereira joined, their fortunes turned around.
Wolves finished the 2024/25 season 16th, 17 points clear of the relegation zone.
The following campaign, however, couldn’t have gone much worse.
After a disappointing summer transfer window, to say Wolves started the season poorly would be an understatement.
By the time Pereira was sacked at the start of November, his winless side had picked up just two points all season.
Prior to Wolves, he had been all around the houses with managerial jobs across Europe and beyond.
Pereira has managed at clubs such as Flamengo, Porto, Fenerbahce, Olympiacos, and Al Shabab.
Who else was available?
Quite often, clubs sack their manager and then find themselves short of options in their hunt for a replacement.
For Wolves, there were a number of names floating around.
The current manager market has a bit more movement, with multiple managers having lost their jobs in recent days.
Most notably, Thomas Frank and Roberto De Zerbi have left their roles at Tottenham Hotspur and Marseille, respectively.
Ultimately, Forest opted for the services of Pereira, who has experience in situations like these before.
He saved Wolves from relegation last season – can he do the same for Forest this time around?
