The Premier League is reaching a climax as Manchester City face Liverpool in a must-win contest to try and catch leaders Arsenal.

In the fight to avoid relegation, West Ham face Championship-bound Burnley, with the Hammers aiming to close the six-point deficit to Nottingham Forest.

Here, Sport Just Sport writer Alex Rhodes takes a look at the televised top-flight games in Matchweek 25, providing some predictions and suggested bets.

Leeds United vs Nottingham Forest, Friday 8pm

As West Ham face Burnley, neither side can afford to lose points in a crucial relegation battle match-up, with both teams six points above the drop zone.

Nottingham Forest are in encouraging form, unbeaten in four league games for their longest run this season.

Forest have also lost just once in the last 15 games against promoted opposition.

Yet, Leeds have a strong home record against Forest, avoiding defeat since 2018, which will give confidence.

Goalkeeper Stefan Ortega will make his debut for the Whites, replacing Matz Sels, who suffered a muscle injury against Crystal Palace.

Prediction: Game to end in a 1-1 draw

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur, Saturday 12:30pm

The Red Devils are in scintillating form, scoring 11 goals in five games, and still unbeaten under Michael Carrick’s leadership.

Tottenham, in contrast, are winless in six Premier League games, missing eight key players including James Maddison, Richarlison and Mohammed Kudus.

Despite their difficulties, Spurs are unbeaten in their last eight meetings against United.

Spurs also showed resilience last weekend, fighting back from a 2-0 deficit against Manchester City to draw 2-2.

For Carrick’s side, this is the best opportunity to claim a first victory over Tottenham since 2022 and secure their place in the top four.

Prediction: Manchester United to win and score 2+ goals

Newcastle United vs Brentford, Saturday 5:30pm

Since their first meeting in September 1934, the clubs have never played out a goalless draw.

Brentford claimed a convincing 3-1 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season as top-scorer Igor Thiago netted twice.

The confident Bees moreover beat title hopefuls Aston Villa 1-0 away from home last time out, promoting them to seventh in the table.

On the other hand, the Magpies’ form has been less encouraging and the absence of key players has defensively weakened the side.

Eddie Howe’s charges have failed to win their last four fixtures, suffering a 4-1 defeat to Liverpool in the league last weekend.

Prediction: Over 2.5 goals scored

Brighton vs Crystal Palace, Sunday 2pm

Separated by just two points in the table, the stage is set for a tense M23 derby on the south coast.

Crystal Palace arrive full of uncertainty, with striker Jean-Philippe Mateta considering knee surgery after his move to AC Milan collapsed, while Brighton continue to struggle for consistency.

Fabian Hürzeler’s side have managed just one win in their last 11 matches, conceding a league-high six penalties this season.

Draws are a common theme in this fixture, with five of the last 10 encounters ending all-square and a goalless draw at Selhurst Park earlier this season highlighting just how tightly contested these derbies are.

Prediction: Brighton to win and both teams to score

Liverpool vs Manchester City, Sunday 4:30pm

This weekend’s standout fixture could have major implications at the top of the table.

Liverpool’s recent improvement will concern Man City, who can’t drop points as they chase down Arsenal for the title.

In the Reds’ last five games, they have scored 17 goals, with German playmaker Florian Wirtz involved in nine goals since just before Christmas, the most of any Premier League player.

Although City’s star striker Erling Haaland has scored just one goal in 2026, Pep Guardiola’s firepower is now coming from January signing Antoine Semenyo, who has four goals in his first five appearances for the Citizens.

Anfield has been a difficult destination for Man City historically, with the visitors claiming just one win since 2011 at a win rate of just 10%.

Arne Slot’s defending champions lost 3-0 at the Etihad in November, but this fixture is expected to be much tougher for City, who relinquished a 2-0 lead against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

Prediction: Over 3.5 goals scored
