Head coach Steve Borthwick has announced his 36-man squad for England’s upcoming Nations Championship fixtures.
England kick off their autumn campaign against Australia on November 8 before facing Japan on November 14 and New Zealand on November 21, with all games taking place at the Allianz Stadium Twickenham.
As a result of injury, Northampton Saints scrum-half Alex Mitchell is the most notable absentee in a squad consisting of 20 forwards and 16 backs.
Borthwick eyes big autumn
After the squad announcement, Borthwick told Sky Sports: “We’re looking forward to getting back to Allianz Stadium for four important Test matches against top-level opposition.
“These fixtures take on added significance this autumn as they represent our final opportunity to face southern hemisphere opposition before next year’s rugby world cup [in Australia].”
On the match-up against the Wallabies, he added: “Facing Australia on Sunday is an exciting challenge.
“They have played a significant amount of Test rugby in recent months, and we know the quality and experience they will bring.”
