Aston Martin have confirmed both Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll have extended their contracts with the team, who have endured a torrid 2026 season so far.
The team are 10th in the standings after banking only three points, with Cadillac in bottom place on zero points and Williams sitting ninth in the championship standings on 12 points.
Executive chairman and co-owner Lawrence Stroll has seen the team struggle under F1’s new technical regulations in 2026.
Despite having an Adrian Newey-led car design, Aston Martin have scored just three points in 15 races.
But Stroll was in a bullish mood about the team’s prospects with Alonso and his son Lance behind the wheel.
Next chapter for the team
He said in a statement: “Lance and Fernando have been a crucial part of our journey and we are very pleased to confirm that they will continue with us into the next chapter for the team.
“Having two drivers with their level of experience, commitment and knowledge provides tremendous value to the whole organisation.
“We are here to win, and whilst our short-term focus remains on improving performance, I believe we have the world-class talent we need to achieve our long-term objectives.”
